Who doesn’t love a cold and refreshing margarita on a hot summer day—or, well, really, any day of the week? This summer, we’ve spiced up the traditional margarita and incorporated real fruit into some funky flavors that will keep your taste buds popping and definitely clamoring for a second round!
On the Menu:
Pineapple Ginger Margarita
Watermelon Basil Margarita
Peach Mango Mint Margarita
Lemon Blueberry Margarita
Pineapple Ginger Margarita
Yield 4 servings
1 cup pineapple juice
½ cup club soda
1 ½ cups frozen pineapple
2 ½ cups ice cubes
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon finely minced fresh ginger
½ cup tequila
4 lime wedges
Salt for garnish
- In a blender, combine pineapple juice, club soda, and pineapple. Cover and puree.
- Add the ice cubes, sugar, fresh ginger, and tequila, and puree until smooth.
- Using the lime wedges, moisten the rim of serving glasses. Dip the rims in the salt and coat well. Pour the margarita mixture equally into the four glasses.
Watermelon Basil Margarita
Yield 4 servings
1 cup club soda
4 cups diced watermelon
2 ½ cups ice cubes
1 tablespoon sugar
¼ cup basil leaves
½ cup tequila
4 lime wedges
Sugar for garnish
- In a blender, combine club soda and watermelon. Cover and puree.
- Add the ice cubes, sugar, basil leaves, and tequila, and puree until smooth.
- Using the lime wedges, moisten the rim of serving glasses. Dip the rims in the sugar and coat well.
- Pour the margarita mixture equally into the four glasses.
Peach Mango Mint Margarita
Yield 4 servings
1 cup lemonade
1 ½ cups frozen mango cubes
1 ½ cups frozen peaches
2 ½ cups ice cubes
1 tablespoon sugar
¼ cup mint leaves
½ cup tequila
4 lime wedges
Salt for garnish
- In a blender, combine lemonade, mango, and peaches. Cover and puree.
- Add the ice cubes, sugar, mint leaves, and tequila, and puree until smooth.
- Using the lime wedges, moisten the rim of serving glasses. Dip the rims in the salt and coat well.
- Pour the margarita mixture equally into the four glasses.
Lemon Blueberry Margarita
Yield: 4 servings
2 cups lemonade
2 ½ cups frozen blueberries
2 ½ cups ice cubes
1 tablespoon sugar
½ cup tequila
4 lime wedges
Salt for garnish
- In a blender, combine lemonade and blueberries. Cover and puree.
- Add the ice cubes, sugar, and tequila and puree until smooth.
- Using the lime wedges, moisten the rim of serving glasses. Dip the rims in the salt and coat well.
- Pour the margarita mixture equally into the four glasses.
